DIY Chalk Paint

Over Easter the kids were so hyper. On good Friday we had a morning of rain but the afternoon became beautiful. The kids were running around the house like crazy and did not want to go outside to enjoy the sunshine. My grandmother was coming over and I needed to calm to wild children a bit so I went to the pantry cupboard to see if I could whip some up to keep them entertained for a bit. I made up some chalk paint which is just 3 simple ingredients that most will have already (if you don’t a highly recommend you get them). The kids spent hours painting outside with them and also requested to everyday for 3 days. The best part is that it just washes off and doesn’t stain.

So all you need is cornflour, water, something to put the paint (I used a muffin tin) and paint bushes. So simple and cheap to make. See below for how to make it.

1 cup cornflour

1 1/2 cups water

Food colouring

Mix together cornflour and water in a bowl or jug. Poor equal amount into each tray part or containers. Add colouring as desired and mix. Let the kids enjoy.
